The Death of Osiris
Osiris is betrayed and murdered by his brother Seth, who tears his body to pieces and scatters the parts throughout Egypt. Isis, Osiris’ wife and sister, along with the help of other gods, searches for and gathers his body parts. With Isis’ magic, she manages to revive him temporarily and conceives Horus. The god Horus, endowed with his father’s abilities and his mother’s wisdom, challenges Seth in numerous battles.
Despite the interventions and traps of Isis, it is finally in the assembly of the Egyptian gods where Seth is condemned by his own words, thus Horus emerges victorious, banishing Seth from Egypt forever. The Myth of Osiris is the most famous story of Ancient Egypt.
